Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone know where i might be able to get one of those m6 scout rifles? the 22/410 combo? ive only seen one and its goin for 400 bucks. if yall know please help me out. im lookin to trade for one

They have gotten hard to find and the people/dealers who have them want that much or more for them from what I have seen. $400 is not out of line.

You're looking for the more common one which is good. I see guys who want the stainless in .22 Hornet for $300. They need to look for Big Foot instead, more likely to find him.

Where are you located? Could help in a trade situation if anyone finds one. I know were 2 (or at least one) are around Clarksville TN for instance.

Springfield isn't importing them any longer, so prices have gone up. They were around $200 originally.

I live In The northwest subs of Chicago. I seen a 4 are on gunbroker but there all bgoin for 400 except one. Well ill keep lookin.

One on gunbroker started just the other day with an openig bid of a dollar with no reserve. If you're lookin much on auction sites you have to be clever about your searching to find everything that is out there.

personally i would as soon have the old savage 22/410 (or IIRC some were .223 and 12 gauge) as the springfield, but YMMV

O come on who wants something thats billed for kids when you can get something meant for SURVIVAL? [/QUOTE
It's billed for kids, but that means it is compact, and easy to stash in a a car, plane, or boat. It's also easier to find than the old M6. And just because something is "made for survival" does not necessarily mean it will do better at survival than anything else.
I think the M6 had a hollowed out butt that you could put stuff in. An ammo saddle and a PSK would do as much. Otherwise, I can see no reason not to go with the Rossi. Barrel changes take about half a minute, reloads are easy, and it's light and packable.

I bought one years ago, and have yet to shoot it. I think it was like $130, in the mid '90s

I never head into the hills on my dual-sport without my SS M6 Scout. Makes for fun lunch stops plinking pinecones etc. I've got a CZ-made .22LR model. It's definitely one of my never-sell guns.
