I was asked at a gun club meeting tonight if military issue M9 Phrobis bayonets were serialized.
Not my collecting specialty and I only have a retail version. Save me some time searching.
Surely someone out there is willing to show off their Phrobis knowledge and answer my question.
I do know military equipment sometimes gets "rack numbers" for storage but that is an armory thing, probably manually applied.
I'm sure he was asking about serial numbers applied at time of manufacture.

Wish I could help with this, Roger, all I can say is, in my limited experience, I have not seen an M9 or a picture of one with a serial number.

Sorry. Don't collect those. Do you have any slipjoint questions? Oh wait, you probably already know the answer to those.😀. Looking at Worthpoint, the Buck ones don't appear to be serialized other than the occasional hand written numbers. The Ontario M9s appear to have a serial number on the scabbard, from the Marines.
