Madness in Peoria IL

The people of Peoria IL are now having to register with the city if they want to buy say a Bowie knife. In fact to sell knives at the Peoria IL gun show you now have to obtain a license from the city costing $20.00 which is good for one year. For each transaction it appears that the buyer and seller will have to fill out paperwork similar to a firearms purchase. Below are links to forms and info about the law. It's my belief that this madness will spread throughout the state of IL in no time.

No offense to anybody that lives there, but this IS the state that contains Chicago...

Yes well thank you for pointing that out but just because, chicago is a democratic strong hold doesn't mean the rest of the state is. Especially in peoria. I'd really like to know what started all this in peoria!

1. Peoria is a union controlled socialist hellhole.

3 you get the idea.
Those who run Peoria have thier heads so far up Chicago's arse. You can't tell when one stops and the other begins. In these parts Peoria is known as little chicago.

About two years ago I visited thier Gander Mountain that had just opened.
I was looking at what they were offering as far as their gun sellection was concerned. In thier display case was a mint S&W 625-1, model of 1988 for $425 that an employee had just traded in. "I'll take it!" Due to my ignorance of peoria law. To buy a handgun in city limits I'd have to fill out a City version of the 4473 along with my right thumb print which would be kept on file with the police dept.. I didn't know this until I had filled out the fed 4473.

The salesman got kinda pissed when, after I saw the ink pad, I told him to get bent and tore up the FED yellow sheet stuffed it in my pocket and walked out. A manager caught up with me halfway to my car. After I told him what my problem was his comment was . "We knew that would be a problem when we located a store here.

That was one sweet revolver to

I never realized it was like that down there. I thought I was safe as long as I was outside chicago :o

Now I'm gonna go tell someone to get bent, cause it just strikes me as funny! :D

im glad i live in the middle of illinois.

im lucky where i live, no permits, just a foid for guns. wich dont bother me to much. right now. If it gets worse im moving to flagstaff/Presscott arizona.Lived in phoenix didnt care to much for it. they were gettin as bad as Kaliphornia...

I dont take offense, i find it funny. lol

I live in Southern Illinois and that has got to be the most stupid thing I have ver heard in my entire life! Rgistering to buy a damn pocket knife? Hell No!!! If I had a dog, I wouldn't even let it Sh#t in Peoria!

Once again, don't just blame this on the Democrats. The Buch administration has gone to the mat for guns, but it has not made any sort of effort to protect knives. I don't want to start attacking politicians, I just think that we have to remember that knife demonization can come from all corners.

ROTFL :D

Well he would probably need a permit anyways

Well... It is sad. Lots of stupid people in Illinois. Most of them must be politicians in big cities! :(

Wonder if people have to register their Emeril Slab-O-Steel kitchen knives. Maybe if we show enough slasher flicks on TV, people will need a Concealed Carry permit to walk out of the kitchen store.

Not surprising at all. Most of the big box stores require you to 18 to purchase a knife. How long will it be until you have to file paperwork to buy one on the internet?

I think we should raise a fund and send a Spyderco to every state governor, senator, and representative. And... politely... ask that they take the knife and STFU.

My wife is originally from Peoria and I never thought it to be that bad of a town until hearing about all of this bull and the somewhat recent events at the Pair O Dice (one crappy casino). I have thought about trying to apply to Bradley University for the CRNA Program...but no way in hell!
