Tomorrow! Many knives go out!

My wife and I spent all of today and last night on packing everything, it was outta control! I keep the local PO going... :D I'll be mailing out a lot of notices tomorrow.

I'll have some new shipping policies soon, so far my rules have been informal but I need to tighten things up in the mail room. We spent a few hours each on a few packages tracking down info... what screen name was going with what email name then what on paypal... or was it a money order that we got a notice to pick up? :D I am going to require a note in the description of the purchase and a current address.

Honestly shipping is the toughest part of knifemaking for me.

I base my knife prices on my time and materials, usually I make $8-10 an hour at most so 2 extra hours tracking down info really hurts. I want to keep making knives for you guys so lately I have been doing all that I can to save on shipping time.

I recently stopped sending out shipping notices but I will resume that, I know how important it is to know that your knife is shipping!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I care and I am doing everything possible to make every aspect of DFK the best!

By the way, everyone is great to deal with, you guys rock! I never think of these things when ordering myself, I guess I am at the point where I need to automate buying a bit more... working on a buy it now button and improvements like that to make everything easier for everyone. :cool:
 
Yea, no problem. And not to piss anyone else off, but you need to raise your prices a bit. $8-10/hr is not gonna be enough now that you're a family man. Just saying.
 
A lot of knives and gear went out today, over 10 knives!

I have a few more to anodize and send out as well as a bunch that are really close. I think about 8 more are shipping in a few days or sooner!
 
Daniel, I think your prices are very reasonable. I don't think a increase in your prices will break any of us ...I mean I can probably afford another 25 to 50 cents:D Just kiddin' . Do what you gotta do. I know I am hooked for life on the Fairly products.What ever I can do to make it easier for you to get a knife to me,just let me know. I will be happy to help.
 
I agree with the other guys Dan. I know I would have paid another 25$ for my order (Ti bottle opener knife) just to try you out. Once I get it and I get hooked like the other fellas here I am sure I would pay an extra 50$ on my next knife from you. Increase your prices man live it up a little.
