Major bummer of a day...

Yesterday, I went to the lake with some friends and some turds decided to bust a window out of my truck and violate my rights. They stole my wallet, a friends purse, CD's, not to mention tearing the crap out of my truck. But the worst part....they stole my large sebbie from my console that I had saved for four freakin' months for. Had CRK engrave it and everything. Ain't life grand? You work your butt off to get nice things to enjoy and some other "Richard Cranium" comes along and decides to do little to no work and take your things for himself.

Sorry to hear that guy. Man wouldn't just have loved to catch the person or persons in the act. Makes you wonder what goes through peoples heads. Just remember, what goes around comes around. They WILL get theirs some day. On the lighter side, just think about the next sebenza you will be getting. Maybe a nice decorated or wood inlayed one.

Sorry to hear that.

Everything stolen will not give luck to the thief..

Now never leave a place without your Sebenza.
Perharps next time you will have a Baby Sebenza allways clipped to your pants.

Cheer up, a knife is not a life. you can allways buy a new one.

cheers,
JM

Superman:

Sorry to hear about your loss. Maybe your insurance will cover the damages. I bet losing you large Seb hurt most of all. My seb stays will her daddy 24/7. Even when I go swimming. But if I were water skiing maybe not. At least the engraving will identify it as yours should the police recover it. Someone who would do that should have a rope around his neck and pulled around the lake a few times behind the boat.

This hurts just reading it, especially since 1. you saved so long to get your Sebenza, and 2. you had it engraved to make it more personal. And what do you want to bet the POS who took it doesn't even know what he's got, and trades it for a song? Stealing someone's special engraved knife, that is truly low...
Good luck, I hope it comes back to you somehow.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words fellow Sebenzanistas. Yeah, I would have liked to have caught them and shown them how sharp a Sebenza really is. But, I guess that is actually not a very Christian type thought, but sometimes in extreme situations...hehe Anyway, I know what you all say is true, someday this type of thing will catch up to the people who do this. I do believe my insurance will reimburse me for at least part of the cost, I am hoping. James, I like the way you think man!

I am sorry.... it is almost like the night I heard a large "CRASH" and grabbed the nine and the maglight only to open the front door and see my three month old new truck had become a bumber stop for a woman. Mind you she had to cross the road and go off the roadway to hit what was basically the only vehicle in site. Well she was ok only drunk so I kinda thought well we all make mistakes only to find out she had no license,no insurance. You really have to wonder how some people can do stuff like that...

If you have any 2nd hand stores or pawn shops in your neck of the woods you may want to check for your stolen goods. Maybe this @#$@#%$# will try to pawn your stuff and maybe even you Sebenza. Its worth a shot.

Reminds me of the first day I moved into my house. One of the local kids broke in and stole two leathermans. But worst of all, he stole my 1 week old Walther TPH 22 pistol. These were about the only things that were unpacked except for a pair of Leica binoculars, which for some reason he passed up. Those cost $1200. Fortunately, he tried to selll my $450 Walther for $50 and was caught. I got the Walther back with only a few minor scratches. But I was pretty sick about it for a month. The kid has moved out of this area so everyone around here has breathed a sigh of relief.

Good luck. I hope you find your Sebbie.

And so, to all outdoor folks, the knife is the most important item of equipment.

As Dan mentioned, keep your ears and eyes peeled for someone attempting to sell/trade it off around town, or hell, even on the internet. Track 'em down and beat 'em. Good luck and I hope you get it back.

OK folks...here is a silver lining to this story. I couldn't find my receipt, which the insurance is going to want to give me replacement value. So I called Bridget up today and asked about getting a replacement reciept so I can get reimbursed and get another Benza. Before this, K-guy's comments about thinking about getting my next Benza set the old rusted steel wheels in my head to turning.

So Bridget said no problem, and I went ahead and ordered my large wood inlay with dual studs and clip insert today!

I'll just have to pay the difference in price. I asked about getting a Maple Burl inlay and she checked and as it turns out, they had a dealer order about 10 wood inlays but then had to cancel the order. These woody's were already in the works at the shop. So I'm getting the Maple Burl and...this is too good...it should be ready within 2-4 months since they had already been ordered beforehand. This is pretty cool, brought a smile to my face in spite of all the insurance, body shop, police report, credit card fraud crap I'm dealing with currently! Bridget was great to deal with as always. She even said that in the recent past, she has recieved calls from 3 other people who had their Sebbies stole from their vehicles. So my advice to all...don't leave your babies in your car/truck!

Superman, sorry to here about your loss, i had to save for 4 months for my sebb also. It amazes me to no end how some people can sleep at night. They will get theirs at some point!. I am also thrilled to read you have ordered a new inlay. It just goes to show there is a silver lining.(*_*)

That is a major league bummer. I had a customer of mine who had his HaloIII stolen afeter 3 weeks out of the cab of his truck........I gireved
