IS IT CUSTOMARY TO PLACE YOUR MAKERS MARK ON
THE LEFT SIDE OR THE RIGHT SIDE OR DOES IT MATTER.
THANKS,
LARRY

Larry, Good question. Im not sure if there is an unwritten law but I always put it on the left side. Welcome to the blade-forums. Bruce

Iv'e been having a long standing debate with myself over that too. Be curious to see what some of the other guys have to say. I think to some degree it depends on the design of your mark or signature. It can flow better from one side than the other dependent on design as well.
But we will likely just do what Bruce tells us to, because, well he's Bruce. Best of Luck. Terry

Larry,
It is normally called the Presentation side. Left side, if the knife is in your hand and the point is to the left. I would guess that this is based on the percentage of right handed people in the world. On left handed folders, I put the mark on the right side, which is still the presentation side for a "southpaw"

I also agree...depends if the knife is right or left handed...you want the name where people can see it.

I put mine on both sides, forwards and backwards, that way the lefties, righties, and dyslexic people will all get it right.

No seriously, I put mine on the left...which brings up a question of mine.

While at a show, what's your reasoning for putting the name side face up or down? I have seen about 50% do it one way, and 50% the other.
Thoughts????

Nick

I always put my name on the right side of the blade (though I never really thought about it before). I'm right handed, so,to me, a knife always looked proper on a table pointing to the right. Then I just put my name where it would be seen. This is an iteresting question. Looking forward to other responses.

J.

I put my logo on the presentation side. Left side for right-handed knives. Right side for left-handed knives. Hey J.!
