I have never really thought about making lanyards for some of my knives, but now I want to. I notice on some knife pics there are some really nice lanyards but I don't know how to make them. suggestions?

I've looked around for some more simple ones and found these. Some are just pictures from this forum which I thought were really classy lanyards.

This just shows some useful ones.

The first two are my favourite for simple designs.

I have to agree that simple is better, with one exception. A lanyard knot would make a simple loop like on that Charles May knife look much nicer.

I like the looks of the lanyard knot, too (see my avatar), but keep in mind the round profile of the lanyard knot is not the same as the ovoid of the doubled overhand knot on that May knife, if that's something you care about.

Actually, some of the lanyards look good and are easier to make than they look! I really like the CRK lanyards, I just have to pick up some cord to make them with:) Thanks for the replies.

I had the same thoughts as you, and it is not hard to come across information on the net. some of the web sites that others listed here I did check, and found very informative. The others I will check out when I can. I have done a couple of lanyards that turned out well, and a couple of keychains that my wife thought were so cool she wanted them! A couple of suggestions, remember that boot laces come in a variety of colors, and are as sturdy as cord. And you might want to check this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=505446
