My inspiration by Magnus Axelson's works :D

length - 293 mm /11.535"
blade - 165 mm / 6.496"
steell - D2 / 4 mm / 0.157"
handle - black paper micarta, synthetic malachite, stainless steel

Bona,

That is a classy and understated way to use semiprecious stones in a knife!

I am not a fan of the many "Southwest style" knives with stone inlays. In fact I almost did not open this thread.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures.

I like the design very much. Now if only it was not micarta. African Blackwood? Gee, anything but micarta when making use of semi precious stone work. Very nice smooth lines and the sheath looks great too. Maybe lose the thong hole. I could easily go for this style of knife as it would fit perfectly to my style of knife. then again, I like many styles of knives so what does that mean lol.

Very nice. I love the way the Malachite is recessed. I somewhat agree with Murray White and would prefer ebony or another natural material but that paper micarta looks great too. I like the lanyard hole. I kind of like those on all knives but it's personal preference right?

Very well done knirfe. Easy to look at too.

No makers mark??

Thank you.
Makers mark is on the top surface of blade :)

Mr Green Lantern, your knife is ready for delivery. :) Really nice work - love the green and black.

Nice touch, Roger! LOL!!! "GL"... :D

I, too, would prefer a natural material instead of Micarta on a piece like this, but I could also live w/Micarta... for the right price..

But, I really like the touch w/the sheath - how you incorporated the green on green theme.

I could also live without the thong hole on a piece like this, as it probably wouldn't get carried, and if it did, in the tradition of the Scandihoovien styles, it isn't really necessary.

Otherwise, overall, I like it! Including putting your mark on the spine, instead of the face of the blade!

VERY nice.

I disagree with the micarta as secondary. In this knife Marcin chose synthetic malachite and his combination is in perfect synch. (This knife will look this good in a thousand years, too.... ;))

Wonderful clear images, as always. Marcin, you don't do ANYTHING mediocre, do you?

Marcin, are you a part-time maker? ;)

Thank you :)
Jim, I'm full time maker but still beginner... :o

I meant to mention it earlier - but I think Micarta is the right choice for this handle. When you've got a stacked handle with multiple (in this case 6) metal spacers, just a little bit of shrinkage of the wood will expose multiple sharp little edges. In this case, neither the micarta nor the malachite are going to move, so the handle will not only stay looking good, but feeling good as well.
