Manix Question.

I have just purchased a new Spyderco Manix C95 PE and it seems a bit stiff. I had read a review in Blade magazine that stated that the Manix opened and closed so smoothly that it can easily be done with one hand. Opening the knife with one hand is no problem but when I press on the lock bar the blade does not drop on its own. Is the stiffness just a mater of the knife needing to be broken in more or will I probably need to adjust the pivot bolt? In the locked position the blade has no play in it at all either up and down or to the side (which I’m happy about). I’m very new to Spyderco with my only other one being the Native that I bought at Walmart. Spyderco’s idea of putting their Native out there at a low price so that people will give them a try really worked on me. The only reason I went to Walmart was to check out the Native after reading good things about it. Of course when it was time to buy the Manix I went back to the wonderful NGK.

I would recommend cleaning the knife and relubing it. Loosen the pivot if necessary.

That should eliminate any stiffness issues.
