Marking on Victorinox Spartan?

I bought a used Victorinox Spartan at the flea market today. It looks to be a standard Spartan, blade markings are correct Victorinox, but the "shield" mark on the red handle is not the normal Victorinox "pinched shield" but looks almost like the Swiss army shield used on the Soldier model, except with a more pointed bottom. This seems a little strange. What is this marking?
