It would be best if you tried the tools in the pouches as a test, first.

Maxpedition makes fine stuff, but understand that the backing panels are quite often so stiff by design (on any manufacturer's such similar product), the square edges sometimes dig into your side.

Look at BlackHawk, too.
 
I have the USA-made Spec-Ops duplex Super Sheath. It is well built and can hold a folding knife and a large multitool (e.g., Victorinox SwissTool, Leatherman Surge). I don't have a BM Grip folder, but the Super Sheath holds a Victorinox One Hand Trekker with room to spare.

The top flaps are separate pieces, attached by Velco, and can be positioned to fit gear of differing sizes. The flaps can be completely removed for open top carry, too.
