Maxpedition gear attachments

I've been researching different Maxpedition Gearslinger packs, and I'm pretty sure that I've decided on the Malaga. I think that 660 cubic inches of space will be sufficient for my needs. I will be looking to add a water bottle holder and possibly a pouch or two to the pack for extra little odds and ends.

With that in mind, what is the best way to attach these items? This will be my first pack that has the modular webbing, and I'm not sure what I should be looking for in terms of attachment. I realize that it may be a simple thing to some, but we all have to start learning somewhere.

Also, if anyone has any feedback, positive or negative, with respect to the Malaga Gearslinger or has a recommendation on a more suitable alternative, please let me know. Along those lines, can someone recommend a good site to purchase Maxpedition gear from? I've found a bunch of sites using Google, but if there are any tried and true sites with good prices and customer service, I would like to know.

Thanks for the help.

My son used the Maxpedition Tacties on his bottle carrier to attach some pouches and they hold so well the pouches feel like they're made to the carrier.

**edited to add** Ordered my Maxpedition stuff from Twowolves outdoors-honest outdoor people with good prices and top-notch service.

Malice clips work the best for attaching heavier items like the bottle carrier. You can also use zip ties, they work well in a pinch. Personally I just use a grimloc carabiner to carry my water bottle. It will give you more options with regard to placement on a long hike. I have a TAD Gear Fastpack and just hang it off one the D-rings on the shoulder strap for at the ready access on day hikes. Otherwise I just use a hydration bladder.

I use malice clips for relatively permanent connections, but for pouches I change often, I like the Blackhawk Speedclips.

The Maxpedition Tac Ties work really well. I attached a Sabercat to the front of my Vulture II and then used the cargo straps to suspend it. Works just like I wanted it to. But for a more affordable and widely available option, go to Lowes and get a roll of Velcro Brand "One Wrap". It works wonders on Molle Webbing.
