Hope its o.k. to post these on here. To me they have kind of a classic timeless design, in my opinion. I'd like to say a big thanks for Eddie at Shadow Knives for making these two beauties!

The bottom one, a Mdl IX, black and red micarta with brass pins and lanyard hole, I ordered for myself at Christmas time this year. It's 3-1/2" x 3/16" 440C. I asked for 3-1/2" because it would be legal to conceal carry in my state. And thought it a perfect size for field dressing deer and other small game.

The other knife at the top is a Mdl IX, 3-1/2" x 5/32" 440C. This one came to me as a total surprise. March 17, St. Patricks Day, was my wife's and my 40th Wedding Anniversary. We went out to eat a nice dinner with family and friends and of course I got her something too. And when we got home, she handed me a package to unwrap and the most beautiful redwood burl handled knife with red liners I have ever seen in my life was there in my hands! All I can say is, what a wonderful woman! Hope to put it to good use this coming hunting season.

Nice knives. Congratulations on your latest acquisition and even more so on your very thoughtful wife.

Wow, that is some amazing burl! Redwood you say? It reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on it.

Thanks everyone. Eddie says it's redwood. You should see it in the sun light. It has a lot of gold flake in it. Just gorgeous!

Mr White makes some fine knives plus he's a heckuva nice guy to boot! Congrats on your 40th anniversary!

Amboyna burl?
I really liked the amazing colors in that wood. Get it in the light and it just looks like gold nuggets and pieces of fire. i got it from a company called Nicholas. No website, true old-school , but worth the effort for sure. Nicholas will be at The Blade Show in Atlanta again where I met up with him last.

Thanks for the info Eddie. All I can say is WOW! All I need now is one of your beautiful clip points.

Dang, those are gorgeous!!!! I really like redwood burl as a handle material. I have a couple firesteels in it. Just has a really nice depth to it. IMO its not utilized as much as it should.

Thanks for the great comments everyone. Eddie makes a nice knife. The fit and finish is top notch and his 440 c takes a wicked sharp edge!
