Ever since stumbling across the Mercworx product line online a few years back I have always wanted one. I have quite a few nice knives made by Benchmade, BlackHawk, and Zero Tolerance. Still, $420 bucks? Such a price seems crazy when comparing to knives of equal quality such as Chris Reeve, and both serve a similar battle-driven purpose (what i need). But my girlfriend being the wonderful person she is bought me one
, sick of hearing me saying how much I wanted it.
The knife is GREAT. Having a perfect balance of size/blade length to make a great battle blade, but not too large to take up a lot of space on a vest/drop leg rig. The knife feels great in my hand, and really feels alive. The Chili handle makes for a strong grip, without having to choke the life out of it, and feels very comfortable in the reverse grip. The hefty weight makes a chopping motion very easy, and I used this knife over the weekend on a backpacking trip, and it served well with most outdoors chores.
Overall... it may be $100 overpriced compared to comparable knives, but I think the unique look and the fact that not many people have them makes it worth it. But then again thats my opinion.
