Michael Moore Hates America?

I hate to see this forum turn into a debate over US policy. There are plenty of forums for that out there. This thread can go nowhere good, in my opinion.

I hate Michael Moore!:p :D And not for this last movie either but for his stance on gun control among other things. Doesn't have anything to do with politics or US policy. I just hate the Fugly mudder fuglier!:grumpy:
 
The original post was a link to a movie dealing with Michael Moore's documentary process, and was not intended to comment on politics. However, it appears that a movie that criticizes Michael Moore's documentary process has only created a polemic that is apparantly not in line with the way the forum currently leans. So to prevent any undue stress to Uncle Bill that a potentially highly charged political thread may have incrued, Ive deleted the original link, and the post that stated that it wasnt a big deal but I found the site amusing. In turn, I suggest to prevent a frictions that will only cause Uncle Bill stress in a time in which he needs little of it, that we desist discussing the topic. I tried deleting the topic, but apparantly I do not have the power to. So the best I can do is delete the original post, and ask that we let the thread die.

Could not have said it more eloquently myself! Anti-self-defense, anti-liberty, pro-big-Government, and as crooked as a dog's hind leg, as my old pappy used to say. Any lie is justified by the ends he seeks, and boy can he lie. Trouble is, many folks swallow the lies hook, line & sinker.

Forget politics, just imagine what he would think of this list for example? How do you think he would portray us if he decided to? I could just see the headline in some Candadian newspaper: "Knife-wielding 'Khuk' Kooks Compete Online to Collect Illegal Deadly Weapons, While Paying Homage to Their Mysterious Reno Prophet Enabler." You can be sure there would be lots of background quotes from Burafan, and he would have a field day with Seth's 30" AK. And who "needs" a 25" Sirupati anyway? Guffaw, chortle, whatabunch of wackos.

This guy with his non-existant morals and people like him are some of the most dangerous people in society IMHO.

Understand your point but didn't see it at all as a debate on US Policy. Forget Bush, or Iraq or the war, etc., etc., etc. I agree that those discussions can rage and range far afield.

This was simply about the lack of truthfulness in one person who believe me hates all of us and what we do and the guns and knives we own as much as he loves the idea of controlling us, and will distort whatever he has to with his films to that end.

Not trying to be the political censor of the forum, I was just stating my opinion on Cantina decorum. I don't think that this is prohibited under the Patriot Act...yet. :D
And to Yvsa: Mr. Moore is kinda ugly, you are much better looking than he is. He is, (as I have been told?) a life member of the NRA, if that makes you like him a little bit :D

Well.... If this is going to just be a thread of conservative people patting themselves on the back for trashing Michael Moore I feel obliged to give a different view.

Michael Moore has hilighted the outsourcing of jobs and the screwing of the American worker in Roger and Me and has stood up more for the working man than any president we have had. However since he did Bowling for Columbine about guns, but I don't really feel it was anti gun but the right wing has used it to play on peoples fears and prejudices instead of their pocketbooks.

Now there is an elaborate campaign to trash him cause he is going after the Antichrist oh.. I mean Bush.

I LOVE Michael Moore. He took the same BS bullying spin meister technique used so well by the likes of Lee Atwater and Rush Limbaugh and turned it on them. Now rather than being men and realize that if you live by the sword you die by the sword all the conservatives are crying like babies cause he's using the same tactics back on them. :cool:
 
Ok I edited the first post, because there was a strong reaction to it, but since that reaction was deleted and there was a call for the deletion of the thread, I figured Id play along with it. Since Hollowdweller edited his initial reaction, I figured Id edit mine in the spirit of non-flaming and community. But lo and behold pretty much the original response is back, without the original post to react to.

Anyways, my original post was as follows:

"Found this link in another forum, thought the fellas here might enjoy it. http://www.michaelmoorehatesamerica.com Anyways its not a big deal, but I found it interesting to see how he reacts to his own medicine. Itll be interesting to see if it really comes out."

This was not supposed to be a big political thread. Ill admit that Ive watched Michael Moore's movies as well, and found them entertaining, the truth, hardly...but then again I dont need Hollywood to tell me the truth. Michael Moore Hates America is the title of the movie, and was not intended by me as a political agenda. If you go to the site, and actually go through their stuff, its a fairly light hearted project using pretty much the same documentary style that Michael Moore uses to follow him around. As someone who took far to many film classes for his own good, I found it amusing that someone was actually making a documentary film that was highlighting how while documentaries claim an air of neutrality, are in fact merely expousing the view of the maker themself, though in a non-fiction manner. Its amazing how many people will look at a non-fiction documentary, and accept it as truth just because they "didnt make the stuff up". Kinda like watching a reality tv show and thinking that is reality.

Anyways, if you are gonna ask me to censor myself, I will for the sake of sparing Uncle Bill a flame war in the cantina, but dont go back and then change the rules and allow yourself the freedom to have an opinion while asking me to silence mine. In the 4 years I have been following this forum, I have always admired it as an example of free speech.
 
I think Michael Moore should be rendered down and sold by the quart as cheap grease.

He did do one thing I thought was rather witty when he was on the steps of the Capitol in Wash DC and he was handing out Army recruitment info to congressmen so their children could join the military and fight in Iraq.

I haven't been monitoring the forum as closely since I installed a different browser and mail client. Spending much time making heads or tails of them.

The primary guide to posting in this forum is honesty, tolerance to differences, and maybe learning from differing opinions. I don't believe in banning people except for egregious and blatant cause. I don't believe in deleting threads or locking them, except for egregious and blatant cause.

I deleted one of Rod's threads to potentially save him some grief. And then I put up an explanation.

You know how we work, Federico. Trust yourself. All right?
 
There was a time I might have tackled the post but not these days. Don't have the energy to do my real job let alone get into extras curricular activities.
 
Let's just say that if Michael Moore was on fire and squealing for help, I wouldn't even pee on him to put it out...

I bet the place would smell like bacon...
