Micra or Mini-Champ ?

Hi guys,

I carry everyday with my keys a Victorinox Minichamp and the tool I use the most is the scisors, to cut nails.

As I see in the "what do you carry everyday as EDC..." thread, most of you carry the Leatherman micra.

My question is: Is the scisors of the micra as good as the Victorinox for cutting nails ?

How do you compare these two tools ?

Thanx in advance,

If by nails you mean fingernails, then I must say, neither. Every tool has its purpose, so I use regular drugstore nail clippers. I have one attached to my keyring.

I consider the Micra to be meant for rougher use. The handles can't be scratched as easily as the Victorinox MiniChamp's. The Micra's scissors can cut heavier loads than the the MiniChamp's, too. I keep the Micra on my keyring as it won't get scratched from being banged against my other keys.

I love the MiniChamp, however, and won't give it up. Because it can be more easily scratched than the Micra, I carry my Midnite MiniChamp II in my front pocket, just under my wallet. It won't get as scratched there and it is innocuous enough to be deployed in any non-airport, non-courthouse environment. I love its pen and red LED.
