Hey fellas - I figured I'd start another thread so I can get more repsonses. I'm about finished with my little project - I just need to clean up the epoxy and finish the handle.

I think it's oak, but am not sure.

Can I use mineral oil to finish this up? If so, what method should I use?

myright, Mineral oil will work. But theres other oils out there that are made for wood which work better.Linseed oil ect..Check at your hardware store or Woodcraft.com. DM

I used linseed oil on my JK AK that has tiger stripe maple handles, gives it a nice feel and looks good. Its also easy to do but time consuming.

Mineral oil is non-hardening. It won't "finish" the wood, but if applied regularly can help keep it from absorbing moisture.
