I am interested in Darrel Ralph's mini maxx, but I would like to know if you can adjust the tension on the blade with a torx or hex wrench? I have had problems in the past with folders that I was unable to adjust the blade tension and the blade got very loose. On the pictures on the front of the knife it does not look like you can adjust the tension, maybe on the back you can if the clip is not blocking it. Any responses are appreciated

I have the full sized Dagger and you can certainly adjust the tension. You do have to remove the clip to get at the torx screw but that's no big deal. Benchmade makes a nice compact kit with torx bits if you don't have any. A nice touch that Darrel does is to put a rubber O ring under the pivot screw so that the screw does not loosen during normal use by keeping a little tension on it. You will never go wrong with a Darrel Ralph knife.:)

I would like to add on to what Peter said. Darrel is now using new clips of his own design. This new clip allows for the pivot screw to be fully exposed (and adjustable w/o removing clip from the handle), yet allow for a secure three screw attachment to the handle. If you can see the clip on the S&W HRT flipper, this essentially is the clip I am talking about.

Man, that is nice Darrel! Does everything you touch turn into a work of art?:p Just goes to show that there is room for more innovation in every aspect of a folder, even the clip!:)

Wf,

If it ever does need adjusting just send it back to Darrel. He be fixin it for ya. In the mean time buy it, you will love it. :) IMHO get the dagger blade. The Maxx was made to have that look.:D

Nice pic of my knife Darrel! (or at least one like it) The clips on the Talonite EDC's are way coool! They look really good, ride well in the pocket & allow access to the pivot, plus they are really secure. A no lose situation - Darrel continues to amaze me with his continuing innovation that always adds to the utility or functionality while complimenting the looks. This is just one incredible knife. Will try to have pics up next week.
