Mini skirmish mod

Ive been looking at buying a mini skirmish but cant get over the bevelled thumb holes on the blade.

I saw a youtube video of one being opened and the user had obvious trouble getting a grip on the holes for one hand opening.

So my question is............Has anyone tried fitting a thumbstud to the blade?

Having not held one I'm not sure it would be of any use, maybe too close to the handle?

Not a thumb stud as such, but I saw another youtube video of a guy who cut half of the top of the big thumbhole off to make it like an emerson waved knife. Very fast opening...

Why not just enlarge the hole so this way it's bigger and has nice crisp edges?

I'm sure that it can be done, and it would preserve the look of the knife while giving better purchase on the hole.
