recently i got the mini commander and my roomate got the full sized commander. The large definitely gives you more to hold onto, and feels better in the hand, so if you are really looking for grip, i would go with the full sized Commander. I like the smaller size of the mini commander, and i think it is perfect for an EDC, but the larger version definitely has more to hold onto. Just keep in mind that the mini commader is really not a mini knife, it is about the average size, and feels very nice in my hand too. The full sized is just a mean looking utility knife that was a little too big for my every day carry, but if a great grip is what you are looking for, go for the fullsized.
