My favorite mixture is equal parts tung and linseed oil with a small amount of turps. Used in warm conditions.

ok :D
thanks, then i will try it out on a new handle for my mustad axe.
do you aply multiple coats?

I've mixed it as well, in hot weather. I did it in layers, not mixing the liquids. Then again, I also have the Wal-Mart version of Tung oil, seems to have a bit of poly in there. Even still, I got a bit of the poly look without the sticky feel. I've yet to use the handle on my pic-axe, don't know if it will blister my hands like a poly finish.
So, I'd get the real stuff, straight Tung oil, and do it when it's warm or hot outside. I bet it's better to make a 50/50 mix to begin with. I applied the BLO and went straight to the Tung oil, let it dry, then added another thin layer of Tung.

i think it turned out pretty good:D

That looks pretty good to me.
Yes I rub a few coats in, Especially if I'm reusing and old haft that has dried out. It brings out that nice seasoned colour of old wood.
