Anyone out there modding the C.S. Pipe Hawk? As soon as my current projects are completed I will be modding one or maybe two of them.

I'd like to see you drill out the pipe/poll and mod it into a true pipe-hawk!

Even though I'm a non smoker, that's not a bad idea. Now if I could just figure out how to get a six pack of beer into...

It's actually on my short list of things to do. I can't wait to get my hands on one of them and strip it, give it a nice patina and sharpen it up. I also plan to make a laminated handle from tiger stripe maple and some cocobolo. Not sure if I will tackle the leather work though. I have never messed with any leather.

Has anyone held one yet?

My Pipe hawk arrived yesterday. While the wood sucks, the metal was very good when the paint was removed. I've found the heads require much work to smooth out the rough areas. This particular one will not. It is much lighter than the Spike hawk. There is not as much metal to remove in order to modify. To my thinking, the pipe (poll) end offers the most potential for modification. I always enjoy modding the C.S. hawks regardless of the model. They become just a bit more pleasing to the eye or at least my eye.
I think you will like the pipe hawk and with the mods you described it is certain to be a knockout.
