Has anyone taken the coating off of the stand off screws and the front and back of the pivot on their 560/61...for a custom look ?

I'll bet they look better than plain black. If you did mod them what did you used the get the coating off of the torx head and not make the torx head too big ?

Pics if you have 'em.....thanks.

I've already heat treated the lock stabilizer and the clip. I think they look Much better than stock. Nice to have some contrasting colors instead everything pretty

much the same.

I did that on my 0551 and my 0560. I bead blasted the screws @ 60 psi with ceramic grade glass beads.

(sorry for the crappy pics...in a hurry...gotta go out the door...)

Sorry, I don't have pix of my 560 but I polished the hardware, pocket clip and standoffs on the 550
as you can see in this old pic.
It would be almost the same thing to do it to a 560/561

Sandpaper and a Dremel with polishing compound and a few minutes of rubbing.

You turned a work horse into a show girl! That's real pretty...

A machinist friend is making a liner and a clip out of aerospace grade titanium for me this week. I got the titanium (which they were tossing as scrap) from a relative who works for a major defense contractor. I guess it is a good enough quality to use for a knife??
