has anyone else sharpened the tip on there tanto buck/strider?? i got tired of the dull tip, and got out the gatco and a coarse stone, using the last set of holes to grind it down, then progressed to finer stones, then a DMT - wow was a lot of metal to remove, once ya start, took a while, but, imho, for what i use it for, makes the knife much more handy -i like the tanto vs SP blade, knew the tanto was dull on the tip, didnt think it would bother me - it did, so after much thought, i went ahead w/the gatco - but WOW that ATS34 is HARD!!!! BG42 would be even worse i bet

took a couple of evenings messing w/it while watching TV (be carefull doing this lol) to get it done right, kinda looks like the tip on a spydie lum tanto, a hamaguchi (sp?) looking grind, esp from the top of the blade - doesnt look bad at all, looks like it came that way, will post a pic if i EVER get the time to figure that camera out - is not as sharp as the primary edge, but 50X sharper than it was, mine was like a butter knife on the tip

but anyway, if anyone has been thinking of doing this, its not impossible, and looks pretty good imho, and makes it a lot more usefull for everyday stuff
