Was just browswing threw some older threads and am really digging the cord wrapped 5160 ones you made last year. Any chance of seeing some of this design in S7? I think they would be a hit! Any one else that missed out on these up for some?

Not to speak for Daniel, but in the photo thread he says that the kiridashi is a standard model of his. I'm sure he could whip out a few real quick no problem. (Note the slightly sarcastic tone!) I am making a Kiridashi and it looks simple enough, but they do take a considerable amout of skill to make look good and be done right!

Thanks Xander!

I am going to do a kiridashi run very soon, S7 would be awesome. I'm probably using 5160 or 52100 for some and am also seriously considering W2.

Give me feedback guys, if I have enough people signed up I can do each steel choice!

Rough Pricing - I need about 4 people interested in a particular steel and I can do a small run

They are roughly 6" long and 1/4" thick.

$85 for 5160 or 52100
$100 for S7
$100 for W2 with Hamon
$150 for Damascus
(usually comes thinner, I'll get the thickest I can find)

these prices are with kydex

OK thanks!

If 3 more people are seriously interested in either steel choice I can do a limited run!

Thanks! I'm sure once the masses chime in you'll be fine. :).
I'd go for one of the others if these two don't take off. Basically the list in reverse is my preference.

C'mon Damascus!

I'd be in for Damascus ( if the one you're working on isn't for sale) or maybe W-2 with hamon.

Damascus sounds good! I only need one more person and I'll order a billet. :D

That current one isn't for sale, sorry I forgot to get back to you on that.

I'd be up for one, but in about 2 months, off to holidays next week and then will have to replenish my cash reserves...

Sorta confused on which kiridashi that is referred to here.

Oh yeah, pics! :D Here's the general design!

They are roughly 6" long with a near zero bevel chisel main grind on one side and a small microbevel on the back for ease of sharpening. They have a forge finish that is usually browned for super toughness and durability.

I round the spine and bottom as well as the butt of the kiridashis, these are older ones in the pics... I think the newer ones are chamfered a bit more. They are left solid besides one hole so they are super tough and as heavy duty as a kiridashi gets.

I'm also doing a new version in 15n20, they are slim and slicy at only .058" thick. They will be about 4-4.5" long with two holes for grip and sheath retention. No wrap for maximum slim profile. These are probably 1/2 ounce in weight, I'd have to check but you wouldn't notice the weight as a necker, pocket or pack knife.

I got the 5160, W2 and 15n20 yesterday! 16' total :D

Here's a more recent one with my new double/gutted paracord wrap, the old one was single full cord.

The Coyote Brown with the antique browned finish is probably the most popular version.
