This knife has been on my bench for awhile, my first try at the shinny stuff, For guard and butt cap I used coppernickle. I will not be using it again, I don't think I like shinny stuff, but I thought I would give it a try. On my next knife you will see this same steel reduced by 6 times. I think this pattern is to big. but hey, its just a knife. And it helped me to see what I do and don't like in a knife. As always, I appreciate your thoughts.

David-

Looking good my friend.

It can be silver without being shiny!!! ;) I don't care for mirror finished fittings much myself. But SATIN finished are my favorite (along with damascus and wrought iron).

I think that pattern is very cool, but will be tres cool reduced X 6!!!

Put a double lugged guard on that, and some more curves in that handle and you'll have these guys drool'n :D

Keep it up David!!!

That is a nice looking piece. The overall shape is conservative, but the materials give it some real pop. I like the damascus pattern and the wood is beautiful. I find the nickel-copper intriguing and will be interested to see the "reduced" version.

I think it looks great how it is. If you don't like it I will be happy to take it off of you hands for you. Free of charge.

Looks like a comp knife to me. Nice steel, but I would personally not want mosaic on a camp knife. Others however, probably feel differently. I don't collect camp knives, and to me they are only users. Mosaic is way too expensive to put on a user. At least that is my opinion.

I think it looks great, and I like the fittings as well. You could try to put a patina on the fittings using liver of sulphur or brass black or something similar. Just a thought:rolleyes:

My thoughts, awesome damascus blade, not too big to me...:)
