Mosaic Pin Making: Epoxy Fill?

Do you fill the outer tube with epoxy [vacuum pump with clear tubing so I can see when it is full] after the parts are assembled, or fill the tube THEN add the other pieces or ????

First I make up the pin without the epoxy using 12" bits, and then saw the rig in halw. I then superglue some clear tubing on 6" of the pin just to make sure I have a good seal. I then mix epoxy ina film container or something else that is deep but narrow, stick the pin in and suck up the epoxy.

I also added RIT dye to my last pin and a bit of water. I jsut glued my latest knife together tonight with a piece fo the RIT dyed mosaic pin, so I'll be reporting later on how well it worked. So far, so good.
