Never seen this one until a second ago. I could see it in my hand though! Phil does some great work. I curently have a Wegner model he did and it is a fine piece of cutlery.

Awwwwhawwwhawwww. Tell me that's a frame lock and not a liner lock, and I will be in love.

I really like that blade shape. like a straightened out Wegner or a tactical/utility drop point. I have a fixed blade Wegner/Boguszewski and I love it.

Phil and Roger Dole (IMHO) are two fellow Washington makers that I consider some of the most underated knifemakers out there.

They both produce some of the smoothest operating, most aesthetically pleasing folders out there. Yet their names are not nearly as well recognized as some others'.

Hopefully a continuation of posts such as these will change that!

Sorry, Mr. Harvey it is a liner lock that is all one piece with the back of the titanium frame.

Dangit! I can't pst a pic of mine, but I will describe it! Just got a Cobra from AZCK. Talk about a smooth opener...... The fit and finish are outstanding. Green micarta handles that have a nice smooth finish, orange peel finished titanium bolsters, nice thick titanium liners, 3.75" BG-42 recurve blade, and the neatest opening button ( actually a finger activated portion of the blade, much like the flipper on a Carson M-16 only more subdued )
All parts fit together with no gaps, no high or low spots, just perfect fit! Weight is around 5 oz's ( estimate ). As I said, this is a smooth opener. Just bump the trigger and the blade glides open and locks up solidly. Is a liner lock and the liners are nice and thick. Lockup on the blade tang is about perfect as far as position goes and has enough "stick" to hold nicely. The fit really shows upon closing. About a 1/4" from closing the blade is just "sucked" in. The liner has enough pressure to keep the blade from swinging open, since the ball detent is positioned as it should be in a liner lock, but is overcome with a bit of force. And then the blade, as stated, just glides open.

Phil Boguszewski has liner lock folders down pat. I am most impressed with his work on this piece. Check out Jay and Karen's site for a pic., www.arizonacustomknives.com

here are a couple more photos of my Boguszewski collection these are earlier pieces from around the 80's. the large one is a midlock back with white micarta scales and filework throughout. the small knife is a slipjoint with filework and pink ivory. sorry for the poor quality pictures. artsig1 that is a cool knife wish i had one of those for my collection.

Hey, Artsig - Phil's working on a Cobra for me right now!

I'm getting one that looks pretty much like the one above yours on the AZCK website - burgundy micarta, orangepeel bolsters, purple anodized liners. Can't WAIT!!

Interesting coincidence. Just got a Phil B. knife from Bladeart, and it is my new every day pocket knife. Being a balisong lover, I love this knife. Just the right size for around the office, whiz-ching one-hand opening action sounds, and surprise proof locking mechanism. Additionally, the fit and finish are near perfect.

This is the small (3" blade) Sidewinder (forgive the crappy photos):
