Who out there is using a MT LCC in their EDC rotation? How is it working out? How is the wear to the Ti bolsters?

Thanks!

Before I got my small Sebenza I carried my LCC everyday and it held up very well. I like the LCC as an EDC knife. Some people complain about it being to heavy but I think after you carry it a week or so you get used to it and you won't even notice it anymore. I carried mine over the weekend in fact. Got to love those MT :D.

I've got an LCC I rotate through my EDC. It's just as good as it was the day I got it. The Ti bolsters get a few scratches on them, but that's just because they're bead-blasted. I'd say the only disadvantage is that it's a little big for pocket carry, though with the sheath it's just fine.

I have a first generation MT LCC-DA that has been in my daily carry rotation since I got it (shortly after they came out). I absolutely love this knife, but I was a little disappointed with how easily the bead-blasted Ti bolsters became scratched up. After carrying it for several months, I finally got tired of the scratches and the easily-bent clip so I sent it off to Bandit for a facelift. I had the Ti bolsters brushed, the carbon fiber scales replaced with polished maroon Micarta, the liners jewel-finished and the evil pocket clip removed ;). It was like getting an entirely new (and better) knife, and I've found that the brushed Ti bolsters are much more resistant to scratching (or at least more resistant to showing scratches). It was always a great knife, but it took a little tweaking to make it into a first-rate carry piece.

I carry my LCC D/A almost daily in it's sheath. This helps aleviate the bolster scratching. Eventually I want to send my knife off to Bandit for some pearl scales and an anodizing of the Ti bolsters. Then it may just be too pretty to carry all the time, but I will probably still carry it. I love the pointy tip for getting the mail open, and the straightness of the blade lends itself very well to kitchen duty. Substantial, yes, usefull, definitely. Get one with Carbon fiber, and Ti bolsters.

It's a great knife for EDC unless you are wearing a suit. Even then, IWB carry might work. It's a bit heavy, but it has been, IMHO, one of the best buys in recent years, particularly the original models with the Ti bolsters.

It was discontinued by MT after an unfortunately short production run, but I understand they are bringing it back.

I've got four, generation 4 models. They all have the aluminum bolsters. Three are DA and have been easy to break in after being lubed with Breakfree. Its easy to carry while wearing jeans, but I use the supplied sheath most of the time. The shark logo on the sheath looks cool:cool:

I have a Gen 2 DA that I carry when not at work. I also have a Gen 4 that I carry when at work. 2 words ~ absolutely awesome ! It's large, hefty, powerful and wicked sharp.

As far as protecting the bolsters. . .it's a EDC ~ it's supposed to have character marks on the bolster !

I own two early production LCC's and I carried them frequently with little trouble. The first one I bought had the skeletonized pocket clip that bent way too easily so I had it replaced with the later style solid clip. For the money they were a fantastic buy. I was a little disappointed when I heard that Microtech chose to start using cheaper materials but I guess they weren't making much money on them in their original configuration.

ps: If you want to remove the scratches on the Ti bolsters use a little scouring powder (I use Barkeepers Friend) with a damp tooth brush and the scratches go bye bye.

I have been using the LCC as part of my EDC rotation for about a year. It has held up really well, with only minor scarteches on the Ti bolsters. I don't think of this as a major problem as it is an EDC, a user not a collectible. The BB blade also started to get some tiny rust pits because I would put the knife away damp from pocket carry at work(landscaping in the summer). After I wiped the blade with Tuf-Cloth about once a week this stopped. Overall I think it is a great user knife, and with the TI bolsters, and CF scales a great looking knife too.

I got myself a LCC a few weeks ago. Already the damn pocket clip got bent so that it doesn't really work anymore! I need to get a sheath and take that sucker off. Anyways, other than that, it's a fantastic knife. I like the blade profile, and it's just the right size for my hands (and it's slender, too!) Only one barely-visible scratch on the bolster. This knife works well, I use it for something every day, and looks great - I get complimented on it nearly every time I pull it out. :)

I have an LCC in rotation now. With regard to the weight it is not a problem. One of the things that I like so much about it is that the clip is small and unobtrusive without sacrificing strength. It would
be difficult to find more knife for under$150.00.
