I'm in need of a quality edc/shtf MT.I'm going crazy trying to make up my mind on what one to go with!!!I like the Charge tti,Vic. Spirit(with the tool kit) and the SOG Powerassist S66.They all seem to be good tools, any advice???

Well, I don't own the Victorinox and SOG you mentioned, but the Charge TTi is one of my favourite multitools. Compact, light (for a multitool of this size) and comfortable to use. I like having the blades and saw on the outside of the tool and the pliers are good enough for what I use it for. I bought a bit kit and bit extender for it. When I carry it, it's normally on the belt, but can be easily put in the pocket too with the pocket clip.

I've got a Victorinox SwissTool, which is a great quality multitool, though larger and heavier than the Charge TTi. I expect the Spirit being of the same great quality, like all Victorinox products actually. Although you don't get the convenience of having one hand opening blades, the tools are on the outside though. For the SwissTool that's no problem for me, since I use that one for camping only and I then carry a fixed blade anyway.

Never handled a SOG multitool yet, but when the choice would be between the Leatherman and the Victorinox, my opinion is that it's mostly a matter of preference and taste.

Charge TTI. It's lighter and smaller than he vic, and the one handed opening of the knife blade is what really seals the deal.

Charge , or Spirit - the two front runners in the medium weight class .

IMHO no one has made a better tool yet than the Leatherman Charge. I've EDCed one for years and I'd be lost with out it. I've owned all the other brands (except for e spyderench... I wanna try one of those) and I keep coming back to the Leatherman.

I own both a ti and spirit and I personally like my spirit much better. Don't know why really but its my favorite multi as of now and I do own quite a few. :)

I'd go with the Vic. Better corrosion resistance on the finish, if nothing else. I think they're finished better too, and the saw is absolutely outstanding on my SwissTool.

I'd go with the Leatherman, but DO NOT get a gerber. They are infereor to almost all other mts on the market.

Good choice on the Spirit. I have on, and LOVE it. Nothing against the Leatherman, i have a number and they are great. The Spirit just has that special something; fantastic fit-n-finish, outside opening tools, just a great tool.

I forgot to mention that I like the bottle and can openers on the Vic tools alot better.I have quite a few LMs too.

Never Owned A Vic. Or A Sog. But I Personally Like The Leatherman Skeletool, Leatherman Juice, And The Leatherman Squirt.
I'd For Sure Listen To Knife Crazied Though, She's A Multi-Tool Nut Lol.

I have had a Vic swisstool for years. Before that I had a buck mini tool. The victorinox tools have the best pocket saws on the market. Very strong plier heads, corrosion resistant. I like the can opener too. I have a leatherman surge and supertool 300 also. I love my surge. More than any other mt I've had. The bit kit and bit extender I have with it makes it versatile. I can swap the saw and file out for other aftermarket tools. One hand opening tools. Scissors. The surge is the best. The 300 is a no frills beefy multi tool. Don't worry about ruining it it's almost impossible. Very simple. Spray it down with brake cleaner once in a while and it keeps going. Sheath wise I like the swisstool sheath.

I've owned just about all major brands, and you won't go wrong with that Spirit you ordered, they are a fine tool. It's a toss up between the Wave/Charge series and the Spirit. The Spirit has a great awl and chisel and more comfortable handles, but the Leathermans have that great bit kit functionality and one hand opening blades. Plus you get premium steel on the Charge series. SOG is not bad if you want those bone crushing gear driven pliers, but the other tools in the handle don't lock as wiggle free as on the Vic and Leatherman tools. Gerber 400 and 600 series are quality tools, but they also import some real junk, which is sad as it soils there name in general to many customers, though their warranty coverage is top notch just like Leatherman and Vic.
