Has anyone else had problems with the main pivot becoming loose? I've just come to use my swiss tool and found that the wire cutters don't work anymore. It's not seen much use so I see this as a reason for sending it back. I'm also not happy with the way the red bit has rubbed off and made it look all tatty.
I'll keep you up to date on how this is handled

Hi Andy ive got a swisstool which has had no use and has play in the plier pivot and wont cut thin wire and it has alot of play in the plain edge blade and other tools on that handle .

My more than 2-year old SwissTool has been put thru many wire cutting tasks (from chainlink to barbed wire to AWG22 jacketed telephone wire, and still cuts like new. My only complaint on the wire cutters is the sheer shortness of the cutting edge (I need to make two cuts to sever AWG18 sheathed telephone dropwire). There is a *little* sideways play on the plier head joint, attributed to numerous times I dropped the tool as it gets slippery in sweaty hands/palms. =)

You're right, you should send it back. Victorinox stands behind it's products. The SwissTool is built tough and tight, no way you should have a pivot problem like that in a new one!
