Just received my Kephart (Orange G10 & matching firesteel) from John yesterday. I came into my office, saw the Norton box on my desk and was immediately sucked into a 2 1/2 hour long meeting! The anticipation was horrible!

This is my first JK and also the first custom knife that I own that was purchased directly from the maker. It was a great experience dealing with John. He was very easy to communicate with, always prompt in his responses and, most importantly to me, did everything he said he would do.

I am also very impressed with the knife and plan on posting a review after I get a chance to use it a bit.

Good choice for your first JK. The Kephart is a classic.

Without any pictures...you didn't get a knife! :D

Hey, Mike, long time! It`s the bottom one here.

JDS1: Yes, after handling the Kephart for a day or so it really is a great "do-all" kind of pattern and I think John's interpretation of the design is spot on.

wackafew: Apologies as I love knife pics too. I'll be sure to post some with the review as soon as I get the process down (kind of new to the posting thing).

That's a nice Kephart. John does a nice job on them. I have a Kephart from him also.
John I still would like to have you make me a clip point one of these days before they go out of style.LOL

Check out the Phoenix model in my 2010 Knives sticky, it can also be made in a convex grind, not just scandi.

Hi outdoorsfan -

Nice !

I use my Keppie in the kitchen and on the trail.

It is a great, rugged knife.

I like your setup with the fire stick, and the orange G10 is sweet.

Thanks for the pictures -

best regards -

I love John's Kepharts. Have another one on order right now. The design fits the hand perfect I feel and the blade design and length is spot on.
I use mine for pretty much everything. Chopping, cutting, hammering through cinder blocks.......
;)
