My 561 is amazing!!

Just wanted to say I'm very impressed with the 561 so far :thumbup: I haven't had it very long but so far the build quality is amazing, f&f is also very, very good. This is my first knife with bearings and so far they rock, I couldn't believe it could be this smooth and I'm sure it will only get smoother:D Just wanted to give credit where credit is due so big :thumbup: to ZT and Hinderer& Kershaw(just got a cryo and couldn't be more impressed with it also) so Keep up the good work ZT and crew!! And by the way the detent is perfect and jimping is perfect:thumbup:
 
Yeah I know I need to get a new camera a the one on my phone is trashed b/c I'm carpenter and somehow its full of dust, I tooks some pics of a Sebenza with it and they looked awful so I figured I spare everyone the crappy pics. Sorry though I though about not posting b/c I know I don't like threads w/o pics either but the Knife really impressed me :thumbup:. Maybe I'll buy me a camera soon:thumbup:
 
That's alright,we'll cut you some slack.I should be getting one in the mail today and hopefully I'll be as happy as you are with mine.Just had to try one out.

yea the 561 is awesome i just got one on friday but mine came dull as hell other than that i've had several 0560s and seems like the higher the serial numbers get the more the knifes quality improves, except the sharpness of the blade, my 0561 is literally a butter knife.

Hey guys, I've had my 0561 for about a month now; mine came sharp enough to push-cut paper, f&f excellent, and the lock-up was more like 40%, maybe even a couple hairs less. My experience cutting with it has been positive, though I did't use it on anything tougher than cardboard boxes... except the aluminum that wraps the top of a bottle of wine (you should have see the faces of my neighbors when I pulled that from my pocket after one asked 'does anyone have a knife?')... basically, it cut, dulled a little over time and I was able to sharpen it back to 'shaving sharp' will little trouble and effort.

I do have a question for you all, however--is the ti that meets the elmax at the point of lock-up hardened to deal with the differential?

I agree, I am 100% satisfied. Lock up, feel [it is the most amazing part of this knife for me, is the contouring + texture work, it's what I fell in love with. Haven't really had contoured knife handles like this, and its so comfy!]

I even switched the lube from my usual mixture [I use an oil + grease mixture to find the perfect medium - video to be processed], but for my bearing knives I tend to just use hi-slip grease. Anywho, I switched from that to frog lube just so I have the luxury of using it for food should the occasion arise.

Mine came about 50-60%, sitting at 65-70% now hasnt moved after the first ~100 cycles.

Doesnt really bother to me as long as it lasts. I know it may sound dumb, many have assured me late lockup on a new knife isnt necessarily bad.

Its just this is my first frame lock and ever since I got into knives I've heard nothing but you want "early lockup" "early lockup" ect...kinda hard at first to reverse your thinking.


But I digress, I love the knife! The thing just molds right into my hand, flipping action is great. Havent got to do a whole lot of cutting yet but im sure ill be pleased. Im looking forward to seeing how the elmax performs. Its my first higher end steel above s30v

Lockup on mine came about 50% and after light use and lots of flipping its still there. Was a little sticky when i first got it used a sharpie once and has been perfect since.
 
Mine came at 40 - 50% lockup and hasn't moved, no stick to the lock. I'm ser# 2412 I think, but don't know for sure I don't have it with me right now
 
love my 560! my lock up is about 75-80% has a hint of lock flex (the lock bard flexes down give the illusion of blade play) other wise its awesome!

Its ok, there are both good and bad points.

Good, wide taper towards the tip, long enough to be like a false tanto [words not coming to me], works well for spreading somewhat precisely. It does get a little harder the more you push stuff towards the handle though. Because unlike a traditional spreader/butter knife, this has a tang/handle that is in the way/need to be wary of getting spread onto. So its a bit hard using that portion vs a regular knife. Also since it has no micro serrations, it took some sensitivity/visual effects away from me being able to spread it fairly thin/even across. If that makes sense. Having just a plain edge made me put on the spread fairly thick. Also, it differs between bottles/knives, but since I had a smaller jar at this time, and as you may note, the zt is about 2-3x wider than a more narrow/regular butter knife [at least the ones I have], so it is a little cumbersome getting in there and grabbing the spread. It especially made me cringe a bit when I was scooping/spreading with the edge on the hard plastic. The plus to the wide blade though is that I am able to get plenty of spread in one go.

Lol,just don't lick the blade when you're done.After having the 561 only one day now,I'd describe it as a balls to the walls tactical folder.I don't really need a knife like this but it is cool to have one.
