Not sure why, but at 13 I would have thought it was cool :)

My brother-in-law and his wife went to the smoky mts. this summer, looks like they made a stop at SMKW. He picked this up while they were on vacation. I guess it would make a good pig sticker, but we don't have pigs around here. This thing is three edged with what would look like to me what constitute as "knuckles". I guess he has a zombie stopper if he needs one because it really isn't going to "cut" much of anything but it sure looks like it will poke things just fine.

It has a triangular cross section which was supposed to cause terrible stab wounds and blood loss . Not much good for anything else like slashing or slicing . Not for utility . Would not be my first choice even for a fighter . Interesting from a historical perspective though . But , yeah , at 13 ... whoopee !

Well just be grateful he bought you anything.

He didn't buy me anything, he bought this for my son without my input. I personally would have suggested something else, but like I said, a 13 year old kid still thinks it is kinda cool, I think as a modern version of a WWII trench knife, it is kinda cool myself.

what a cool a gift !
cold steel has indeed found a great way
to rehandle a triangular blade scraper
or three corner bearing scraper
to fearsome effect...

At 13 I would have loved it. It's absolutely worthless beyond being cool, but at least it's well made. At 13, I was limited what I could stealthily purchase from a flea market without my mom knowing or what my grandma would find at yard sales. Usually butterknife dull Frost Cutlery or Pakistan specials.

I had several useful and appreciated knives like a few old Cases at a Buck 110, but I would have been grinning ear to ear if my uncle gifted me something my 13 year old self would have geeked out over.
