Hello all, like the title says, my first ESEE.

Couldn't decide between a 4 and an Izula II, so made it easy ... :D

Like any good knife guy, second thing I did (after having some fun with them)
was rip 'em apart and mod 'em up. The micarta handles that came on the 4 were a little small, so made some teak ones.

The Izula is next for some wood handles. Just wrapped it for now.

My father in law was a tool and die maker in his day (retired now) he actually modded the pen - turned the wood on a lathe, mother in law saw my knives and pulls out the pen (who knew)

Anyway - Had to see what all the "Hub Bub" was about with ESEE's - some nice blades. Go well with my "Others" (lol)

Welcome to the ESEE side =). Glad to have you over here, and glad you enjoy your new knives. Nice work on those custom handles by the way.

God bless,
Adam

Thanks. The stock ones were a little small. Length and diameter. Figured give these a try.

Good knives. Was looking for some smaller users.

You sir have great taste in knives. Also, I LOVE the Becker shaped firesteel handle. Too cool.

Nice! Teak is such a nice material. How long does it take to shape the scales? Do you shape them on the knife or off? Sorry, I'm a knife noob.

No worries.

Off the knife. Used a belt sander for rough shapping. Then drilled them. An orbital sander for the finished shape. Hand sanded for the final finish.

Teak IS nice. Had a good stick of it kicking around. Figured it was time for it to earn it's keep (lol)

Izzy is next. Kinda' like the wrap though. Stock handles were nice too. But, just had to mess with it ... you know how it is.
