I fiished my 605 Darrel Ralph kit over the weekend. And I ran into a friend with a dig. cam so I got him to take a few pics for me. The handels I made are birds-eye maple witha minwax stain (early American) with a semi-gloss finish. I finished the blade and bolsters to 800 grit. I only had mess up happen as I was c'bore the handle screw holes. Fixed it up with some saw dust and poly. This is the first knife kit I've attempted and had a blast. I'm trying to figure out what file work pattern to do.

Darrel, thank you for designing this kit. It gave me a soild knife that I can say I did the finish work on and that I'm very proud of.

here is the link to the pics.

Nice job on that! The finish on that wood really turned out nice. The more I see the results of the kit the more I want to buy one.

Great Job.
That maple looks great. The finish really brings out the grain too.

I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer... but I've got the sharpest knife in the room.

Looks great Brian! That is some very pretty wood. We'll have to get together again and compare notes.
