my wifes mother was kind enough to gift me my first buck 110 for christmas!
So i finally have the classic buck lockback, my impressions and pictures comparing it to my camillus 110 clone...
Finished much nicer than the camillus, first thing i noticed was the nice grinds, etc. on the blade of the 110! Also all the edges of the buck handle are much less pointy than the camillus. The blade itself has a little less belly than the camillus but at first glance they are similiar. I was surprised that the pins on the buck sit proud, no big deal just assumed they were flush. the blade locks up tight and has just a bit more wiggle than the camillus when closed, the 110 came decent sharp but with a pocket hone got it shaving in no time!
All in all A classic knife and a beautiful example that ive been carrying since friday! Awesome gift to get! makes a beautiful partner to my more utilitarian camillus.
the only real issue with it was the cordura sheath, i prefer leather pants for it, but it is functional!
Great job Buck!
cheers

Congrats of your first 110. I will warn you now that one 110 is usually never enough. Check out the AG110 from Cabela's as it has an S30V blade and it is priced right. Also, Buck has a custom shop option for the 110. Build one to your specifications.

Enjoy!

Yeah congrats. The proud rivots are a halmark of the 110. Flat is right 1st one is just something to do before getting the next:D Leather sheaths are a dime a dozen. Check the web.

I have a couple of Camillus 886's, 4 Schrade LB7's, 4 Frontier 4815's, 2 Imperial 480's, 2 Frontier AA-51's, 1 Bear, 3 Craftsman 94609's, 2 95206's, 2 95233's and 3 Buck 110's so I can compare 5" folders. What you say about the 110 is true. The fit and finish is very good. The Camillus ones were made a few years ago and I am sure that there are improvements in equipment for knife making. Keep your Camillus because they are no more.

yep mine is marked BM9C, i bought it a few years back, got it for a song. And yes i dearly miss Camillus being around, excellent company.
Fortunately you 110 guys are keeping Buck in Business:cool: Ive read tale of you 110 collectors... Matter of fact i was mentioning it to my wife, but man my little collection of pocket knives is heavy, but a collection of 110's has got to be insanely heavy:eek::D
thanks guys

Congrats on your new 110, Gene! When it comes 'polishing time', you will be glad you have that Cordura sheath. ;)

naw think i may hijack a large wr. case sheath i have and use it for the buck, i'm not one of the polished knife kinda guys, so it'll end up looking a bit like the camillus i suppose...:D
thanks

Ivan I agree with A.P.E., I'll also take the condora sheath over the leather. It's lighter, more compact and it can also be positioned horizontally.
