I put a page on my business server to show my first knives. - I think that may be easier than uploading to the forum. Anyway, I see many new members do this and the feedback is always valuable, so here goes... Indian George, if you read this, I'm coming on Saturday .

Bob, that is some outstanding work. I think my favorite of the ones shown was the first one. However I don't personally care for that cutout on the blade, I don't think it's needed. I have a Fowler Prong horn and the knife is a pleasure to used when you choke up on it. One finger in front of the guard on the ricasso feels perfect.

You're off to a good start and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Those are fantastic, Bob!:) Congrat's. All are nice practical designs, look like they'll be great using knives. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in, but I use multiple tempering cycles with O-1. Seems to improve performance a little. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see more!:)

Phil - Thanks for the input. I agree - I decided after I finished the knife to not do the cut out when I try that shape again. I have since done a few more sketchs I want to try. I also think Ed Fowler's design is about one of the most useful designs I have seen - nothing better than melding form & function.

Richard - I'd like to know how many timesd you temper your O1 and at what temp & how long. From what I am reading, most high carbons steels seem to benefit from either multiple quenches and/or tempers.
