It's about time that I introduce myself and post as I've been lurking here for a long time now. My name is Ludwig, I started making knives in March this year and these are my first three.

Nice start out of the gate. We will look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you for all the compliments. I attended a two day knife making course in March where we made a slipback folder, so I cannot really count that as my first, because I had some help. I bought a grinder after the course and ground five or six mild steel blades to get a better feel for the grinding, then proceeded to making these. I still have alot to learn, but I am currently busy with my 19th blade which will hopefully come out better than these. I will post pics of some of my other work soon.

Welcome to the forums Ludwig. The fit and finish looks fantastic for your first couple of knives. Congrats and keep up the excellent work.

Can we get some details? Blade material and length, handle materials, etc?

Obviously an abundance of natural talent.
Fit/finish/execution look outstanding for your first three knives.

Thanks again for all the compliments. The blade steel of all three knives is Sandvic 12C27, #001 and #002 have 304 stainless bolsters and Diamondwood handles, they are 18cm and 22cm in length respectively. #003 is 20cm long and the handle material is Micarta, the bolster is black Diamondwood with stainless pins. The handle pins on all three is 6061 aluminium.

Hi there, good to see someone making knives in my hometown!
Your number #003 looks nice, would like to see more!

Well Done!! Those look better than my 10th knife. Way to go

Very nice Ludwig - I like all three of them! I have just started making knives myself, hope mine turn out half as nice.

Thank you Mark, from one beginner to another, when hand sanding, never be too hasty or too lazy to get that last scratch out, it makes a big difference in the end.

Those are mighty fine looking knives. I very much look forward to seeing MORE of your work.
