My First North Carolina Custom Knifemakers Guild Meeting

Hi all would like to thank all the members and visitors that were at my first NCCKG meeting since I joined at the show in Winston/Salem last year. We had a great time with all the demonstrations, comparing notes, and BBQ by Mr.& Mrs. Herron. I had no idea how much fun yall had. I even won a scholarship to the three day course of my choice. We are very glad to be part of a great organazation and encourage others to join and see what I mean. They have bunch of people who are tops in my book. Thanks to you all. GenO

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!
I currently don't have a web site but am working on one.
Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms!!!

So that's where you been! Glad to see you were having a good time. Like I said before...wish Arkansas weren't so far away. We'll make up time this summer...can't wait.

Jeff

P.S. Get to work and send me those knife specs!! Oh, and take the CaveLady out somewhere!

GenO, you left out that you also won a large box of glass bead blasting material, and a 3M deburring wheel. Pig

Phillip, I hope Barry watched that guard soldering too

though he was probably walking behind Mr. Herron all day in case he dropped one of his knives

Sounds like you all had a blast.

GenO it was a pleasure to have y'all there at the meeting. It is so nice how other makers share what they know.. To watch you and Mr. Herron do your demos was a real treat. It is so nice to watch somebody do something they are really good at! Hope to see you and the other S.C. boys at future meetings. Take care, Mark

Geno,
It was great having you at the meeting. You will have to come to them more often.

Lifter,
I did watch the soldering demo that Geno did. I have also watched George demo the same. Believe me when I say that if George dropped one of his knives around me it would never even hit the ground.

I heard this from Geno at the meeting.
My broker is George Herron. When George Herron talks, people listen.

GenO - Glad you had a good time. I hope you'll continue to make the trip. We're very fortunate to have an organization such as NCCKG and the folks who make it work so well. Maybe one day I'll learn enough from y'all to put together a l'il something of my own.
