I am looking to get my first "old" knife, and I want it to be a Old Timer. I prefer Stockmans, so what is the best model to get? I am not very familiar with all the different models and whatnot. I am currently looking at the 34OT and the 108OT. From what I understand the latter is a pretty small knife. I'm not so sure how I would like a "stockman" to be that small. Anyway, which should I get?

The 34OT is a dandy knife at 3 5/16". The 108OT is small but handy. Once you get the first one, you'll be getting the other one anyway, along with an 8OT, and an 98OT, with a 61OT waiting in the wings... welcome to Schrade Land!!!

The 34 and 108 are both easy to obtain at a very reasonable price.

Wait, don't forget the 72OT peanut... :D

Welcome, Southernguitarist! You will like the 34 OT. And you should have one in your guitar case anyway. Keep in touch!

I was just curious about the knife in the guitar case suggestion, I've been playing guitar for long time and I've never been tempted to use a knife on my guitar. Am I missing something?

I don't have a knife in my guitar case, I have a device for cutting strings but that's it. But I always have a knife on me so it doesn't matter. :D

What I actually meant is that you should have a knife in your left pocket, right pocket, guitar case, kitchen drawer, bedstand drawer, jockey box of car, truck and SUV, boat, underneath the seat of your motorcycle, tackle box, bicycle repair kit, toolbox, overnight luggage, backpack, etc. ad infinitum. Sorry for the confusion.
