I visited a local flea market this weekend just to look. There is a vendor there with a large selection of knives, but most of his offerings are of the Case, Boker, Bulldog, Pakistani, Chinese persuasion. I enjoy looking and he is always entertaining to talk with. Well, I walk towards the back of his area and there are three Spydercos, a Benchmade 910 and a Kershaw Spec. Bump. The Spydercos were a Calypso Jr., an Almite Walker and an older FRN/ATS-55 Endura. Since I can stand anything but temptation when it comes to Spyderco and Benchmade, it took about 5 seconds for me to get a price on the Walker and get the money out to buy it. It is just what I wanted even though I was only looking and is a real little gem. I did some searching in the archives and if I got it right, this knife was part of a run of only 1,000. If that is true then I feel very fortunate to have found one in my area. A major selling point for me was the use of VG-10 steel in the blade. I have a Native III with VG-10 and it holds an edge very well. The folks at Spyderco sure turn out quality products.
