I have an Elishewitz Striker on the way...I've wanted one since day one. It has Ti. bolsters and G-10 scales. blue jeweled liners. Does anyone have any interesting facts or stories about this knife or Elishewitz himself? (I've seen the website.) I'm stoked, and can't quit wondering how it feels in the hand. Like I said...I've never had a true custom. It is a true custom isn't it? I hope this will satisfy my everlasting quest for the ultimate folder...at least for a months or so.

Congrats,
I know the feeling, after years and many purchases, years ago I ordered my first custom, a Scott Sawby with his patented lock. Had to wait 6 months for it too. Loved it for years, but alas I finally traded it off (bad move)

It was not better or more pleasing to me than my Sebenza though.

But, theres something to be said about dealing with the maker direct.
A good experience.

Way to go Jackyl!
I hope it's everything you expect and more.

I've just decided to take the plunge, into handmades, after the holidays. For me it's a Herb Derr, damascus hunter with stag handle. After I order it's a six month wait. So in the mean time allow me to enjoy your first with you. Post pictures if possible, tell us about your first impressions, and your intended use, are you going to use it? Is it for every day carry, or display? Hey, I'm getting excited for you.

Great choice and congrats on your first custom. I have a Ghost, Ti bolster, G10 scales that I purchased from a dealer. It is my belief that you find your Stryker to be a fine cutting intrument. The work is solid and the detail and fit is not unlike a piece of fine jewelery. Great choice!

Thanks Phil!!! You're fueling the fire.

It's not mine yet...but will be as of Thurs. if everything goes well. I probably will carry it a few times, and continue my regular rotation. Here's a pic.

Enjoy your new Knife.

You to man...I just had the opportunity to purchase a VERY special Elishewitz folder...but the price range is just out of my reach due to everything going on in life right now. It really bummed me out. :*( I'm sure it'll be better when I get my Striker on Thurs., or it could make it worse...hehehe. Oh well...I may not have millions of dollars, but I'm still a rich man. (In many other ways.) -AR

Adam, you are just going to trade it for something with Damascus next. A Janus, maybe? I'm surprised you didn't grab that Integral Ares that Larry has on his site. Just don't print it up or drop any loke-tite on it, buddy, because you're not gonna have it long

Jackyl,

This Striker was my fist true custom too. Uh-oh sounds as if we may be starting something. If you decide to get rid of the Sriker it may only go to someone purchasing their first custom knife. What ever you do you must not break the chain or you will be condemned to owning 420J2 POS knives for life.

Thanks again and I hope the knife continues to bring you hapiness.

Take care,

Ray S.

Thank you Ray...I've always wanted one.

I doubt it goes anywhere. Nice and safe...right here in my pocket. -AR

Jackyl-
I got a Elishewitz Shadow a few months ago, and with its stonewashed blade goes well with my CR Zulu Trio, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, and break up the family.
I'm sure you will really enjoy it, and its high quality, and workmanship, goes well along the same line of the Sebenzas me thinks.
Enjoy, and relish it.

Larry

Thank you Guys for all the kind words. Congrats to you Jackyl for the first of what I hope will be a large collection of customs. Like I tell all my customers, call me if you have any question or comment about the knife.
Thanks again.
