My first two RC knives

I have been wanting a "real" RC knife for a while. Then I spotted someone selling two new ones on the forum. I got both (RC-3 combo & RC-4 tan) for a reasonable price. (some folks that know me use me as an example of a classic tightwad). They arrived and met all of my expectations for fit and finish. They are great. Then my knife nut attitude kicked in.:(

I loved the RC-3 but not the combo edge, the RC-4 in tan ain't gonna do it, only because I have taken an attitude about the tan coating. So now I have two RC knives that I won't be using because I will try to keep 'em pristine to sell or trade. I know I'm not the only person that does this sort of nit picking, but I still really piss myself off at the way I do things sometimes. In the next life I am promising myself that I'll be completely easy going about everything!!

They are made to work go ahead beat them up!

Or lemme know how much you want for them and I will beat them for you!

You knew the blade design(PE or SE) and color combination(Black, tan, green) before purchase/trade right ... why let that bother you..use them ! the coating will wear..that tan coated RC have one of the best scales on them IMO. Green Micarta,is tough and really can take all you can give her...the blade coating should not be a real big issue.I say relax and use the RC blades as intended not made for buy/resale..made to use !

all I can say is use them, they are not limited edition or collector series....if you do not want to use them sale or trade 'em .

Tan is only skin deep.

The serrations will go away after you sharpen the RC3 a couple hundred times.

Problem solved.

Try not to piss yourself off and also try not to piss on yourself. This rule has worked for me for almost 40 years.....

It's a shame he couldn't have just bought a serrated tan model and then he would only have one knife to be mad at :D

I've done the same thing before so I understand where he's coming from ;)

I think he bought them from Troutfisher over on KF. He had pics up, and very attractive pricing. I can't imagine it would be a problem to trade or resell if it's a huge issue. If you start to use them you may find you like them so much, the little issues will disappear. :D

Yeah, he bought them from me. I liked the RC4, but there was no way that both knives were going to be used. I love the RC3 so much that I figured that I would keep that one. But, I too did not like the combo edge, so i sold both of them. Now i just have a plain edge RC3 and I love it!
