I took a shot at knifemaking last year, here are some results.

Tell me what you think.

I am currently building a small shop and will resume knifemaking on a very part time basis. It's so fun.

Thanks,
Tim

Really nice work TB. I like the blade shape and grind on the steel knife. The synthetic knives are really neat too. Are they sharper than the "CIA Letter opener" synthetics they sell? Marcus

Wolv:

I'll tell you when my Panther is delivered and when I finish my own fighter. That way, I'll get a good comparison.

Marcus:

The composite knives will cut flesh and thick fabric. They also have strong points that are capable of penetrating sheet steel.

Liked your composite knives. Would like to see more of you handy work. Just started making knives last year myself. Great fun ain't it!?

Right now, I'm just building the shop from scratch. The ventilation is being put in and all the piping for water is being put in too. In about 2 weeks, I will be building the gas powered brick furnace for heat treatment. It will be able to handle pieces approximately 10" OAL. As soon as I get things in order and all the equipment operational, I will begin making some toys.

Everything is just for fun now as I still need to work on my skills, techniques, and trademark features to make my steel children unique. Do not expect useless filework, holes in the blade, hawkbills, and poor quality. Do expect fine tool steels, careful heat treatment, simplicity, functionality, and comfort. I have entered a new "phase" so my new knives will look dramatically different from and perform dramatically better than my old pieces.
