I just got my Inficoot in the mail yesterday (thanks Eric). I bought this knife with the idea that it is going to be my horse. I wanted a knife I know I can always reach for when I go camping/hiking/hunting/fishing and just abuse when I get bored. It had to be able to handle all the harder tasks I may throw at it while hiking/camping, not be to cumbersome to keep on my belt for extended periods of time, and be capable of field dressing a deer and preparing a small brook trout for dinner. My first impressions are extremely positive. After hearing all the talk about how tough INFI is I was worried that sharpening it would be a chore. Well last night I was able to drop the edge down to 15 degrees with no problem, took me about an hour on a medium 4 stone. After running the blade along a strop a few times the knife was hair popping sharp. I never understood the reasoning behind the choil at the bottom of the blade on such a small knife, but last night I found myself using it quite a bit as I was playing with it. I wish the handle was slightly thicker, but Ive got big hands and the current handle is comfortable enough that I really dont see a problem. I really love that handle material. The blade is also thicker than I had imagined, but after considering the reasons I bought this knife and not another Buck Vanguard this is a trade off Im prepared to make. I havent had the time yet to really put it through anything hard but the weekends almost here. Ive also got to mention that I love the bandicoot sheath that I ordered with it. I cant wait to get this knife out in the field!
