Hey all, well these two finally arrived yesterday... I found these on the bay about 3-4 weeks ago. One is a 1981 Case lockback in stage handles.
Personally I'm quite happy with them, the main draw card for the case, asides from the looks was the year it was made *laughs* its the same age as me.
Anyway I guess onto the pictures :D. Also sorry I had to cut short the number of photo's for this knife because the battery was dying in the camera and I
had to get the other knife done too.

The leather pouch in all its glory.

3 3/4" closed, this photo displaying the case logo.... albeit upside down

The opposite side, as you can see it has slightly mismatched handles but I reckon it gives the knife just an extra hint of character. Thickness of the
slabs match pretty good, I'll take a top down and bottom up photos when the batteries charge.

Here it is open, one thing that strikes me is how sleek and (to me anyway) stylish it is.

Same as above, but the other side instead.

All in all she feels quite nice in the hand, has good looks.. just a nice knife nice all round.

This here is knife number two. Its a Fight'n Rooster, mother of pearl handled congress knife with a small twist. Enjoy :)

Here's the side view, got to say right now that the photo's don't do the handles a lot of justice....

Here we are on the other side... Before I forget, I should say that closed its 3 5/8"

DSC01006.jpg

Here you can see it from the top.... First thing that hits you is the whole chunkyness.... This is not a slim knife. Fun knife yes, eight blades yes
....slim not a hope.

Here's a photo of the bottom, again it helps to impart the size...

DSC01019.jpg

And now we'll start moving onto the blades..... Here we have a Wharncliffe and (I'm still learning here) but i'll say a drop point... too me its like
a hybrid between a clip and a drop point.

DSC01013.jpg

Moving on we now have a nail file and a nice little pen blade.

DSC01014.jpg

Now we have the two main blades of the knife... A sheeps foot and a drop point, both have blade etchings, which we have close ups of later

DSC01016.jpg

Lastly we have a second pen blade (its slightly larger then the first one) and a smaller sheeps foot (I could be wrong on that as it looks just slightly
different to a sheeps foot)

DSC01017.jpg

And now for the close ups of the main blades... The first one will be the drop point, not a lot I can say except they look quite nice... this blade does
seem to rub slightly against the sheeps foot as you'll see the slight scratches in the next photo.

Well I hit the image limit that last time, so looks like a third post it will be.

So lastly.... we have the sheeps foot. As you can see it does have the slight scratches but after 27 years I can forgive that very easily. As you can see
she's number 588..

Again its quite a nice knife.... it does have the slight issue (unavoidable perhaps, due to the number of blades) but a couple of the nail nicks are
partially covered over by blades further in front. Though being long pulls, they help to negate it.

Apologies if its been a little picture heavy... I probably should have put a warning at the very start.

Both are excellent choices. That 8-blader is way cool.:thumbup:

Hi KnifeDave81 -

Very nice pictures - thanks!

That Congress is a real "Dagwood Sandwich" of blades! I was surprised while reading your post and then seeing the top view, I was not expecting all those blades!

Thanks again for the pictures.

best regards -

Oh my. That Fight'n Rooster is spectacular! That is a work of art. I don't think there are many who wouldn't be delighted to have that gem in their collection. Nice acquisitions!

I really like the drop point on the Case. The clip point is so common on that style of traditional that the different blade shape makes it stand out.

That's a lot of blades for one knife and those are some very long pulls on there. Definitely something you don't see every day and really interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments everyone :). Only happy to have shared with you guys :D.

Corey, I thought it was really cool too (in fact I still do). Its a really nice, really unique knife. Quite happy to have stumbled upon her.

mqqn, you're welcome. I'll be doing more photos as I get more knives, I want to do top down and bottom up on the case.... unfortunately its raining now (so not today).

Andy, I really can't agree with your sentiments more. It is a gem, a very fortunate find.

tomcrx, agree'd fully, I don't think she'd have the same character and general flowy-ness if she was a clip point.

Dan, you're welcome. Glad you liked her, I thought the Fight'n Rooster would make some interesting viewing.
