I just wanted to share with you guys what happened to me today. I was in a pawn shop looking around when I saw what appeared to be a Spyderco knife in a display case. I asked to look at it and found that it was a Spyderco Endura in mint condition. I asked the clerk "How much?". "Oh, that's just some cheapo", he replied, "I'll take $5.00 for it". Well, I looked it over (it looked new) and pretended like I was thinking about it for a minute and then said "Alright, I guess I'll take it". He then tried to sell me a REAL cheapo instead, saying "Now, these are a little better and only cost $10.00". I told him no, that I was looking for a cheap knife. I could hardly contain myself as I left the shop. It was great. Has anyone else just stumbled upon an awesome deal that you will never forget? Let's hear about the best deal you ever got. Shane

That's great! I never have that luck. I always get screwed on prices instead. Maybe someday I'll get a good one.

Yeah, I always get the shaft, but not too bad. I get a good price usually, just find it cheaper a little after I make my purchase. Cae in point, I just won an auction for a MOD Ladyhawk for $97 and today and auction for the same style knife ended for $81. I was happy with my deal, but would have been happier with it for $16 cheaper. On a happy note, I got my BM 910 for a really good price and have found a great price on a Mini-commander I hope to acquire in the near future.

at one of those outdoor swapmeets, I found a old style delica and endura laying in a pile of knock offs. Your choice $10......I picked two. :p I am guessing they guy had them for awhile, then got the knock offs. Non knife folks can't tell the difference I guess.....I can. :D

I've had several good deals off of BladeAuction.com . I got my ProTech Runt for $70, and a Boker Skywalker for $120. I know, not amazing prices, but still great deals at the time. I also have had some great deals from fellow Forum members. Got a Like New Benchmade 3000 Pardue auto for $65! That was a great knife, BTW, and a Puma Titan Glimmer for $75.

I have lucked out a few times at Pawn shops. Once I went into this place and they just got this guys entire Buck collection. I picked up a 60's 110 for like $30 and some other older models I was looking for. I bought perhaps 6 knives that were hard to find for a really good price. They even threw in a yellow handle Buck stockman for free!

It makes up for those times I got ripped off. :D

Great job on sniffing that one out!!

My best deal was at a very "rural" gun show. An old guy had tons of crappy knives for sale. I spied an old Bendmade Panther. This is when the butterfly logo still said "Bali-song". I asked how much and he said $20.00, I said I could only swing $15.00. He said, Okay, I've had that one for a while, I'm getting tired of packing it up after every show.

So I got a pristine Panther for $15.00!!!! I still have that one, and smile everytime I look at it.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, especially when dealing with a knife-ignorant pawn shop dealer! Congrats on the great bargain!

I love these stories. After working in a pawn shop for about 9 years I found many deals, and have many stories. Once I had a guy come in and pawn a Sony portable CD player, and I gave him $15.00 for the unit on loan. The Sony was in a Case Logic bag that had about ten CD's or so and the adapters. I didn't bother looking throug the bag, and when the unit came out ninety days later, I found a Gerber Gator in excellent condition, four dollars, and a pack of Zig Zags in the bag. I took everything out and kept it, and sold the Sony for $35.00. I did give a co worker the pack of Zig Zags for him to dispose of.:D

Hello
My best deal on a knife was the time I bought a Spyderco Starmate for only 130 euro. The suggested retail price was 250 euro then. I had just read a review in a Dutch magazine, went over to my local knifeshop and there it was. It didn't take long to decide!
Kind regards from Holland
