I got a MOD Ladyhawk that i got a year ago that i keep as a back-up knife. i kepted it in my pocket. i let it get linted and unkept. so when i played with it it had play all 4 ways. i can understand side to side but it also had up and down play.

Does anyone have this problem?

i own Microtechs which held up better to almost daily use.

I've got a CQD Mk2 that has alot of "top to bottom" blade play. I took the time to call the manufacturer, and they told me to send it in ASAP and it WOULD be fixed, no return authorization #, no money for return shipping, no questions about "how it got that way" just flat out awesome customer service. You might try giving them a call at (828) 452-7327.

My own Ladyhawk, on the other hand has SPECTACULAR fit and finish.

Not much to say re: the Microtech Vs. MOD issue basically another "Ford Vs. Chevy" argument. Although personally I have noticed that MOD is almost ALWAYS compared to Microtech, which in itself is very flattering to any other knife manufacturer, whether they're "as good as, better than, inferior to" being a moot point from my own perspective.

Good luck to ya, and I hope you can have your problem rectified with a minimal hassle.

I just got mine today and I absolutely love it. Sorry to hear about yours. I don't quite understand how the linerlock failed. Does the blade come unlocked unintentionally under pressure? Also, I do not understand how an unused knife develops play that has not always been there. Can you please explain to a neophyte? At any rate, sorry about the problems. Hope you get them resolved quickly and easily.

My wife has one that was perfect in every way except the pivot fit was too tight. I returned it to MOD and had it back in three days and now it is absolutely perfect. Return yours. Their customer service is excellent.
