I went with my friend over to a huge farm he has access to this weekend on his birthday. He told me that morning that everytime he takes someone for the past 15 years or so on his B-Day that they get lucky.

I was glad I didnt break his streak:cool::thumbup:

I told him I wanted to go ahead and book him for his birthday next year too:D

He's a big mature rutting buck 5 years+. His neck is nearly 23". He's a main frame 8 pointer with a litttle bur on his left side just big enough for a ring. Its not an inch so technically it doesnt count. He' going to be close to 140 but maybe a little less.

THis was right after the moment

See how the spider with its chisel grind cut through the sternum effortlessly:thumbup:

THat makes two deer and a chicken for the spider:cool::D

chisel grind spider?
Where are the knife pics?

I don't think I have seen that one yet.

Seriously, which voodoo queen are you seeing? I need a taste of that mojo. Nice deer.. both of them.

thanks G,

I think its just finally my turn. All the does, and lesser bucks, the misses, bad shots, unfound, walked by, winded, busted, screw ups and just plain learning experiences have all added up to this year.

Its been a rollercoaster of a year ride with many highs and lows. I am still searching for a nice 10 pt I shot with my bow the same morning as this one.
What a rush, he came in from behind and at last moment I noticed the doe. She came around and was looking for me hard. THankful he was full on in the rut. I drew the bow , the doe blew at 15yds, the buck grunted and stepped forward. I shot. I thought I smoked him but I gut shot him. THats why I was carrying the smoke pole that evening:(

I have been hunting buzzards for a few days:thumbdn:

It *is* your season. Hope you find the rack. You can always have it mounted on another head.
